Pinocchio Drawings!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The Moonbeams class listened to the story of Pinocchio as part of our Italian fairytales.

We decided to try and brave drawing a picture of Pinocchio. It was very tricky and we had to do it step by step, one pencil line at a time. When we were finished, we added some colour. We are really proud of these drawings and think they all look really great!

Sensory PE

The Oak boys were confident individuals when trying out the new activities in a sensory PE lesson.  The boys took part in deep pressure activities and used equipment that gave their body a lot of feedback, which will help them feel more settled.  We had lots of fun trying out all the activities!

Lots of emerging scissor skills were evident and this is something we will be practising more as the term continues.

During Maths streaming, Miss Gemmell’s group tried to complete some problem solving challenges. We used new equipment called numicon that we have in the school.

The pupils loved using the matching boards to try and complete the numicon patterns then the class split into two teams and had a challenge of covering a blank numicon board using the numicon shapes. The teams worked really well together and managed to complete the task!

Super Sensory Session!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *

The Moonbeams class got the opportunity to visit the new sensory activity room in school. Mrs Feeney created this room to help pupils ease tension and preparing them to learn in the classroom.

Today, we explored slam balls, punch bags, weighted ropes, crash mats and sensory body sacks. We really enjoyed this and all chose a favourite activity.
