“Pop Up” on YouTube

We have been made aware of a “pop up” on many sites such as You Tube which is called Momo. It targets children and asks them to provide a contact  number for Whatsapp where users are then targeted with violent images and dares.  The link below has information for parents.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-47359623

Here is advice from 2 of our P6 pupils Rhiannon Smith and Thomas Urquhart from our Health and Safety Team:

“There has been rumours going around that a being called ‘Momo’ will give you ridiculous dangerous challenges.  Please do not attempt any of these challenges.  If anything comes up on any device please tell an adult or family member as soon as possible and they will block them.  Also, security on YouTube is trying to delete and block ‘Momo'”.
