Cheerio and thank you to Mrs Boyd and our Janny

After school the whole community gathered to say a fond farewell and express  our gratitude to Mrs Boyd and Peter our Nanny as they retired.

Following a cuppa and some time together in the school hall Our Piper Ali led us all across to the church for a cheery carol service. The parents and children made a presentation to Mrs Boyd and Mr MacLennan to thank them for their years of service to the community.

We wrote recipes for a happy retirement

Staff and pupils wrote recipes for a happy retirement for Mrs Boyd. We hope she tries some of them in her new air fryer. P6 made chef’s hats and everyone who submitted a recipe got their photo taken wearing one. It was great fun trying to complete the task and take all the photos while keeping it Top Secret from Mrs Boyd who kept popping up when we least expected it. A real Team Taynuilt effort and a great result.

ELC Learning to climb – P6/5 learning how to support and encourage

We are all learning lots of different skills when working together.

The young children in the ELc are learning how to use the climbing frames to climb, swing and slide. The are just getting used to these new skills and over the weeks their confidence in using the equipment has grown. To begin with some of them were not sure about being so high off the ground but with the help and encouragement of the older children they are starting to have a go.

Cheerio for now to Mrs Ralston

P6/5 Gave Mrs Ralston some lovely gifts to say thank you for being their class teacher. We all wish her well as she moves to Lochnell Primary to be the acting Headteacher there for the summer term and look forward to welcoming her back to work with us again in the autumn. .

Cheerio to Miss Pate

Today the children of p6/5 waved a fond farewell to Miss Pate.

They had a lovely day cooking up a feast and took it home to share with their families.

We would like to wish Miss Pate all the best with everything she does in the future and hope she enjoys the kind gifts we presented to her to thank her for being our class teacher for the last 18 months.
