Whistle Blowing Policy

Staff involvement
This policy was drawn up in consultation with the Head Teacher of Taynuilt Primary School and staff members of Taynuilt Pre 5 Unit.

Taynuilt Pre 5 Unit will not accept or condone any behaviour by staff, volunteers or other adults associated with the establishment that is contrary to the establishments aims and objectives. We will actively encourage and support any such behaviour by:

  • Promoting an environment of mutual respect, trust and open communication.
  • Treating everyone equally and fairly with dignity and respect and by valuing individual differences.
  • Ensuring the quality of the work of each staff member.
  • Ensuring volunteers are effectively monitored as well as the work of the establishment as a whole
  • Ensuring procedures are in place for reporting unacceptable behaviour and practices.
  • Actively supporting staff who whistle blow both during the investigation and after at all times keeping in line with the relevant legislation.
  • Following the procedures laid out in the Argyll and Bute Public Interest Disclosure Policy
  • Provide all staff members with the Care Inspectorate details:

Monitoring and Review
It is the responsibility of the Head Teacher along with the Pre 5 staff to monitor, evaluate and review the above arrangements and effectiveness of this policy and adjust them according to need.
