SHANARRI Superheroes

8 children from across the school  spent the day working with Mr Elkerton to bring their SHANARRI superheroes to life.

The children from the ELC are going to  get to know the superheroes after the holidays when they investigate lots of different ways to keep themselves safe and well. Stay tuned for updates as they happen.

8 junior artists + 1 superdooper illustrator. = 8 SHANARRI superheroes

Archie brought a XXX to help P2/1 get off to a good start

here you can see the decorated cone. It has sweets and gifts inside

Archie is one of our new P1s. His Mum is from Germany and she helped him to prepare a traditional German treat for his new classmates, they celebrated  just like they do when children start school in Germany.

Here you can see a picture of the children opening the xxx

As you can see it was full of sweets and treats for everyone.

P4-7 den building

P4-7 worked together yesterday afternoon with a den building competition – teams had limited resources which they had to trade each other for, learning how to utilise resources, negotiate and communicate as a team to build a successful den which every member of the team had to be able to fit inside!

Sampling

P5/4 have been working with Kilchrenan primary school over this last term, and today spent the day at Kilchrenan working with them to learn sampling techniques in the Kilchrenan grounds looking at biodiversity.
In the afternoon they had an absolutely fantastic American football taster session with coach William Humphries, learning how to throw an American football and how to run ‘routes’. A huge thank you to William, and to Allan Wright and Gillian Walker for making this happen.

P5/4 perform Shakespear’s 12th Night

P5/4 have been working on playscripts this term, looking at the play ‘Twelfth Night’ by Shakespeare. To show what they have learned about performance, interpreting characters and stage directions, they put their hard work on display during a visit to Kilchrenan today and brought the house down 👏
