Virtual Games

Every Friday afternoon, our P5/4 and P7/6 classes have been joining forces and enjoying joint PE sessions down at the big pitch in the village. They are currently taking part in the ‘Virtual Games’ each week, an online sports day where schools post their scores from a variety of events and compete against each other. Great teamwork has been on display!

Inter school Tag Rugby

A reminder that tomorrow is the annual p4-7 inter-school tag rugby tournament. Pupils in p4-7 should come to school in PE kit (no football/ rugby colours strips) and bring a packed lunch, snack and water. As we will be outside all day please remember a jacket, layers, sun cream and midge spray if required. Parents are welcome to come and watch if you wish (at the rugby club in Oban)

UPDATE – we are delighted to say our teams played very well and won the tournament.

P5/4 are learning about bees

P5/4 have been working hard on their topic on biodiversity, looking at bees. We had a fabulous visit from Donald Harrison who taught us how bees are kept, how they behave and how honey is actually made! We have also been researching ‘bee friendly’ flowers and made our own wildlife haven for pollinators outside our classroom using recycled bottles to create hanging baskets. We are carrying out weekly bee surveys to look at the impact of our work 🐝

Samba Drumming

P4-7 have been very lucky to have weekly samba lessons with Martin Douglas, learning rhythms and keeping beats on a variety of different instruments. A huge thank you to Martin for this experience.
