On Friday 17th June Toward Primary School held our annual fundraising BBQ. Everyone had a fun filled evening and raised lots of money for the school. We had a lot of support from staff, parents, members of the community and local buisnesses. We held a raffle with fantastic prizes kindly donated to the school by Scottish Salmon, Timothy J Sharp (Jewellers), Candice Girard Salon and Chouxmakes Cakes. M&M Bouncy Castle & Character Hire came along with Mickey and Minnie and their bouncy castles which were highly popular with the children.

Kilcreggan Sports Day
Well done Kilcreggan Primary School for a fabulous sports day on Tuesday. The children of P5 and P6 did a fabulous job of organising the day, from deciding upon the theme (the Olympics), to organising the teams, the events and requesting a healthy snack. Thank you to the PTA for organising the lovely fruit kebabs. A special mention also goes to Mhairi, Tarra and Jean for organising a sponsored run in order to raise money for Cancer Relief. they raised £200.
St. Joseph’s Community and Parish Partnership
What a lovely morning was had by all at Helensburgh’s Lite Bite Coffee morning on 31 May when some P7 children from St. Joseph’s went down to help and say ‘Thanks’. The ladies and gentleman of the regular Tuesday coffee morning held at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall welcomed the children of St. Joseph’s with open arms – and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves getting acquainted with not only Parish members but also members of the Helensburgh community from other faiths…or no faith at all.

Bowmore Goes Gaelic!
On Thursday 28th April, we hosted a Gaelic Open Afternoon to share our learning with our families and friends! Each class’s IDL had a Gaelic theme – whether it was historical or cultural!
Gaelic songs were sung, Gaelic stories were told. Lots of lovely art work illustrated the stories children had been learning about! The Gaelic tradition of the belief in the fairy world was explored – there was even a glittery fairy garden in the grounds of BPS! Many children are going home to create their own.

Rothesay Primary School held their first ever Eco day on Monday 9th May. It was a huge success. Some of the favourite things were making (and eating) fruit kebabs, making bird feeders, parachute games, Eco art, making Earth mobiles, and singing Eco songs. We also picked up every scrap of litter from the playground. The whole school learned about the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainability, too. Continue reading Rothesay Primary School Eco Day
