During the week of 6th-10th June pupils and staff at Colgrain enjoyed an activity packed Eco Week. The Eco Committee have been working very hard this year to plan and implement a variety of Eco initiatives. During the Eco Week pupils took part in a variety of group sessions, including: making fruit kebabs, Judo, Sports Day, Litter/Recycling with Argyll and Bute Council, SSPCA workshop, a visit to Waitrose and iCycle.
Pupils and staff wore green on Monday for WEAR IT GREEN DAY and raised a fantastic £100. Teachers also planned fun and engaging Eco activities for the classroom and outdoors, a few examples are: planting, making bird feeders, the water cycle and wildlife conservation leaflets. At our Spring Fun Day the Eco Committee had a stall selling teacup bird feeders, plants and pre-loved uniforms and raised an amazing £115. The money raised will be added to our Eco Fund and help with garden maintenance and Eco activities next year.
You were very busy Colgrain! The planters look beautiful and the birds will love their teacup feeders!
