Pupils at Cardross Primary had great fun on our recent Green Day whilst learning important survival skills, starting with an assembly for Save The Children Den Day. Mrs Adirangga shared with us her experience of an Earthquake and Tsunami when living in an area known as the Ring of Fire and how she helped a community build emergency shelters.
Pupils then went on to build an emergency shelter for their class using minimal resources as would be available in extreme situations. They thought about how they would send messages without technology and how to transport water to their school.
We are learning about the Ring of Fire in P4 at the moment through our Volcano I.D.L.
Den building and survival skills sound like great fun, but with a serious message.
