Maths –

Let’s use some of those seeds you have gathered –

  • count the seeds, how many do you have?
  • how many ways can you sort the seeds (think of colour, size, shape)?
  • make a symmetrical picture with the seeds
  • make shapes and patterns with the seeds
  • order your seeds by size (smallest to largest or largest to smallest)

Growing a Magic Potion Garden - Picklebums   Pin on The Natural World

Another thing I liked to do when I was a little girl was to make ‘perfumes and potions’.

Here’s how you do it:

You need a small plastic cup or a jar and a stick.

Now you need to collect some potion ingredients such as little pieces of herbs, leaves, grass,  earth or flowers.

Put your ingredients in your cup or jar, add a little water and stir.

You have made a perfume or potion, you decide.

Try smelling it with your eyes closed. What can you smell?

Who in your family can make the nicest perfume or the smelliest potion?

Give your perfume or potion a name!

Dance –

What does Rachel have planned for you? Have a look!

Challenge of the Day –

Watch how different insects and birds fly.

Try to follow some of them. How do they move? Do they move in a straight line?

Yesterday was Earth Day and we were all thinking about ways to help save our planet. Here are a few stories about Earth Day.

Have you ever painted with feathers? Try to find some feathers when you are out on a walk and have a go. Can you imagine what the sky would be like if birds did make marks with their tails when they flew?

Has Rachel got a new part of the dance sorted? Have a look!

Challenge of the Day –

Can you make a face using a plate and some things around the house? Challenge your family to do the same. Give your family of plates names.

Sensory Play shaving foam

Hi Everyone.

It’s not too long till Easter so I thought you could try 2 activities in 1.

Why not try making some shaving foam Easter egg pictures.

You will need :

shaving foam, paint or food colour, a tray, paper, something to stir the shaving foam with. and a scraper to take off excess foam, scissors.

What to do:

Put shaving foam in try,  add some drops of colour,  drag a stick through it to make a pattern,  place a piece of paper on top and gently press down. Scrape the excess saving foam off and leave to dry.

When you have made your marbled paper you can cut out some Easter Egg shapes.

Don’t worry if you don’t have any paint or colour you can have fun playing in the shaving foam!

Play with some shaving foam today. Can you practise your letters or numbers or impress someone in your family by writing their names in the foam.

Challenge of the Day –

We have been looking at water in the Pink Class. Here is an outdoor water challenge. Challenge your family to see who makes the best waterproof shelter. Who will be brave enough to sit under it while you test if it is waterproof? Have fun!
