Movement –

Let’s get moving. What does Pedro or Gerry suggest we do today?

Life Skills –

Choose 3 jobs you could do today to help around the house.

Maths –

Go on an environmental number hunt.

Numbers are everywhere! On your walk today, how many numbers can you spot?

Have a look at traffic signs, lampposts, doors, bus numbers, number plates. Where else do numbers appear in your local area?

P.E. –

I wonder what Pedro and Gerry have planned today. Have a look at the P.E. section to find out.

Story – 

We are looking at plants this week. I love this story about a little seed and how far it travels.

Signs of the Day –

What signs will be learning from Lorna today? Have a look at this section to find out.

Art –

On your walk today take some paper and some crayons or pencils.

Look for some trees with different barks.

Use your crayon to make some rubbings.

Can you see the different textures of tree bark?

Outdoor Learning –

Go on a seed scavenger hunt.

Look closely at the trees and plants in your garden or when you are out on your walk.

Can you find any seeds? What colours are the seeds? How big are the seeds?

Take your seeds home for further activities this week.

HWB –

Seeds we eat – cut open some fruit or vegetables, can you find the seeds?

Some fruits and vegetables have the seeds on the inside e.g. apples, pears and some have the seeds on the outside e.g. strawberries. Where are the seeds that you find?

Challenge of the Day –

Give someone in your family a big hug – hugging someone close has very positive effects on our body and makes us feel good. Do it every day this week to get maximum effect.

Make some letters or words using a variety of materials e.g. paint, playdough or pipecleaners.

Story –

David from Orange class found a story he thought we would enjoy as we are looking at birds just now. Let’s join Kipper the dog as he finds a nest.

HWB – 

Make your mental health a priority today – things are only getting harder the longer we spend at home.

Today I am going to have a looong bath, do some reading  (my favourite hobby!), sit in my garden and maybe cosy up and watch some Disney movies. Do something today that puts a smile on your face! 🙂

Morning

Monday 30th of March – Pink Class

It’s Monday! Wakey, wakey! Let’s start with a good morning song.

Calendar –

Let’s play a favourite learning game – ‘Wall Touch’

Write days of the week on pieces of paper. Place the pieces of paper around the room or blu-tac to the walls. Everyone stands in the middle of the room. Someone shouts out a day of the week and everyone races to find it and touches it. Repeat for other days of the week. Mix the cards up and try again. Have fun!

Movement –

Life Skills –

Help out with doing the dishes today. This is one of our classroom jobs.

Maths –

Let’s continue with money.

Make a money caterpillar. Can you add up the coins? How much is each caterpillar worth?

Outdoor Learning – 

Here’s a little challenge for a walk today. As you wander around your estate or garden collect items to record your journey. What can you find that nature has provided? Tie them to a stick to help tell your journey story. Was it fun? Were you happy? What did you find? Did you find any feathers? What animal did they come from?

How are you all getting on with brushing your teeth? Are you remembering to reach the tricky bits? Set a timer for 2 minutes each time.

Play Doh Disco – have fun! Get those fingers and hands working! If you don’t have any playdoh, try some rolled up socks.

I went for a little walk and spotted some signs of Spring. What did I see?

Wow, how many daffodils do you think is here?

I also spotted something hiding in the long grass, in the next photo. Can you see what I spotted, it’s very well camouflaged…..

Good morning Pink Class!

Let’s see what we could do today.

First of all let’s get singing with our families! Wakey, wakey!

Let’s think about days of the week today. Can you teach someone in your family our days of the week song? Can you teach them our signs?

Movement –

Check out the movement section. There are some great activities posted here.

Lifeskills –

Use the Tablespoon Biscuit recipe from your home learning pack to make some yummy biscuits. After all of this movement you deserve a yummy treat!

Literacy –

Try one of the sound/literacy tasks from your pack.

Practise writing the letters of the alphabet (use different colours for each letter).

P.E.-

Check out the P.E. section for some ideas or play a game in your garden.

Story –

Today why don’t you develop your listening skills and tune in to David Walliams reading one of his stories. He reads a new story every day at 11am. Each story is around 15 to 20 minutes long.

Art – 

Children are being asked to paint or draw a rainbow and put it in a window at the front of the house. During this time of social distancing, families can go for a walk and children can look for rainbows!

Science –

We have been looking at water in the Pink Class.

Let’s do a floating and sinking experiment.

Find 10 things around your house. Do you think they will float or sink when you put them into water? Guess then experiment. Were you right? Why/why not?

Look for healthy food choices in your fridge or cupboard.

Morning routine

Hi Everyone.

Hope you’re all well and looking forward to the day.

I have posted images to support a morning routine similar to our class circle time.

Please ask your son what emotion they are feeling and if the y say tired they also need to give another emotion! Ask them how they feel the emotion and what could be done to make them feel better if appropriate.
