Group 5 Circle Time Thursday 7th May
Hello everyone,
Today I feel like Mr Grumpy because Thursday is my shopping day and I hate going to the shops. Hopefully I will feel better once I’ve done it!
Who do you feel like today? Remember to ask someone in your house how they are feeling.
For movement today why not choose a just dance track to dance along to?
You could dance along to Ghost-busters
or to Frozen
After that it is time to decide on your life-skills for the day. Could you learn to make a drink for yourself or for someone in your house? Who in your house might like a cup of tea or a drink of juice?
First lesson today is Maths, so check out Steve’s Maths posts for some interesting activities.
After Maths it is Fiddly Fingers. For Fiddly Fingers today do you think you could make an animal like one of these paper roll animals?
Here is a video to watch if you would like to give it a try. I would love to see some photos of your animals if you do.
Take a break and then come back for story time at 10.30. Today’s story is
After the story check out Sign of the Day and then it is time for Music with Connie. I wonder what you will be hearing today?
Have a nice healthy lunch. Perhaps you could practise making a drink again.
After lunch it is sensory time. How about a massage today? You could give someone a hand massage or they could give you a head massage or together you could try a story massage. There is a link to a video explaining how to do it on the right hand side, under the Pinewood recipe books.
Last lesson of the day is dance, I wonder what Rachel has planned for you today?
Have lovely days and remember to send me your photos so that I can add them to our photo round-up of the week tomorrow.

sign of the day – check what Lorna is teaching us today
art – what has David planned?
lunch
science – have a go at making bubble snakes
You’ll need one of each of the following materials to make a bubble snake:
- 1 empty plastic bottle
- 1 clean sock
- 1 rubber band
- 1 pair of sharp scissors
How to Make Your Sock Bubble Blower
- Wash your plastic bottle so it’s safe to put your mouth on it.
- Use your sharp scissors to carefully cut the bottom end off of the bottle. Discard the piece you cut off.
- Slide the sock over the end of the bottle so it’s stretched tight across the hole. It shouldn’t cover the drinking end of the bottle.
- Secure the sock to the bottle with a rubber band.
How to Make Bubble Snakes
This is the fun part! The bubble snakes are simple to make once you have your sock bubble blower assembled.
- Dip the sock end of the sock bubble blower into your bubble mix.
- Make sure the sock is saturated with the bubble solution.
- Point the bottle downwards and gently blow into the drinking end.
- Play with your homemade bubble blower!
remember to take photos please
Health and wellbeing – play in the garden or outside, on your balcony
let’s finish with relaxation,
I hope you have a really good day! Sophie
Group 5 Circle Time Wednesday 6th May
Hello everyone,
I hope you had a lovely long weekend and that you were able to spend some time outside in the sunshine.
Today I feel like Mr Bounce. The nice sunny weather makes me feel like bouncing about in the garden to get some exercise.
How do you feel today?
This sunny weather means there are lots of insects in our gardens. For movement today why not go outside and see what you can spot.
Can you find a butterfly or a ladybird? Use this spotter sheet to help you.
For life skills choose an outside job like washing the car, watering the plants or tidying up the garden.
First lesson of the day is Literacy so go to the Language section of the blog to find out what Laura has posted for the day.
For PE check out what Gerry and Pedro have arranged for you in the PE section.
Have a break and then come back for a story at 10.30. Today’s story is Owl Babies.
Then check out Sign of the Day with Lorna and get creative with Steve in Art.
After lunch it is time for Science and today we will be learning about trees so check out my post in the Science section.
The last lesson of the day is Health and Well-being. Why not find your favourite spot in the house or garden and have a relax for 10 minutes. Close your eyes and have a listen. How many sounds can you hear as you relax?
Have a lovely day.
Sarah

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND, Sophie
Group 5 Circle Time Friday 1st May
Hi Everyone,
How are you today?
Today I feel like Mr Happy because it is Friday and once I have finished my work for the day it is the start of a long weekend. Had you remembered that there is no school on Monday or Tuesday?
Who do you feel like today?
For Movement I think you should choose your favourite song to dance to. I am going to dance along to this one …
I wonder what you will choose?
For life-skills today can you help get the house clean and tidy for the weekend. Perhaps your bedroom needs a tidy?
I bet you can do better than that!
For Literacy today check out Laura’s posts in Language section and then find out what Linda has planned for you in Social Studies, I think it might be all about the weather.
Have a break and then come back for story-time at 10.30. Today’s story is

Then it is time for ICT, I wonder what Steve and Kirsty have posted in the ICT section?
Last thing of the day, Music, so check out Gordon and Connie’s posts.

Group 5 Circle Time Thursday 30th April
Hello everyone,
Today I am feeling like Little Miss Brainy because I have got lots of writing to do about school today so I am going to need to use my brain.
Who are you feeling like today?
Today is the last day of April. Can you remember what month comes next? This video will give you a clue.
Can you do the sign for the month? I think it is M and Y? I wonder if any of you can reply to this post to let me know if I’m right?
For movement today why don’t you dance along to this song to celebrate the end of April (and the rain!).
For life-skills today could you help someone write a shopping list? That’s what I have to do today. I need to remember bread, milk, cheese, apples … lots of things! I definitely need a list!
For Maths check out Steve’s posts or you could practise your money skills. Collect change from people in your house (remember to ask them first) and count how much each of them gave you. Then find out how much you have got altogether. Then try sharing it out equally. Then remember to give it back!
For Fiddly Fingers why not practise some finger exercises like these. If you haven’t got play-dough you could use blue-tack, a sponge or even a small piece of fabric like a sock or washcloth.
At 10.30 it is story time and today’s story is Mog the Forgetful Cat.
After that it is time to check out Sign of the Day. Maybe Lorna will do the months for us.
Then it is time for Music. I wonder what Gordon and Connie have been up to?
After lunch it is Sensory time so why not make a den? Collect up blankets and cushions and use them to make a den, perhaps on your bed or behind the sofa. What is it like in your den? Is it dark and cosy? Could you take a torch and a book in there and have 5 minutes peace?
Finally check out Rachel’s posts for some dance moves.
Have great days. See you soon for story time.
