A lot of interest in Story massage so here is a ‘How to Guide’ and some stories you can try at home.  (click to make them bigger) You can do story massage to any story.  There will be a live story massage on facebook at 2pm – search Story massage and it will take you right to their page.

What is Story Massage?

  • Story Massage combines the benefits of positive touch with the creativity of words – whether as story, rhyme or song. Ten simple massage strokes form the basis of the programme, each with its own name and symbol to make it fully accessible for all ages.
  • Can be shared as a child to child or adult/parent to child activity
  • All strokes can be used on any area that is accessible and appropriate for the person so it can be applied to the shoulders, back, arms, head, face, legs, hands and feet, all areas which are non-intrusive. No oil is used so clothes do not need to be removed. The movements are safe and adaptable to the individual.  All strokes and story massage activities are given with permission.

Please watch the ‘How to guide’ below before if you have not done story massage before.

repeat the movement at least 2 times for each stroke.

Here you can access the written version of the massage strokes.

Choose a movement song from the “movement” section on the blog or just dance along to your favourite song with your family! 🙂

Lily’s mummy told me she has been busy helping mummy with the washing! Can you help sort the washing into different colours? Can you help your mummy or daddy put a washing in the machine?

Technology

Today’s challenge..

Maths (on yesterday’s timetable)

Let’s combine Maths with some exercise today!

Go out on a hunt for these pictures in people’s windows. Count how many you can see and write it in the boxes. You can colour it in before or after you go 🙂 Have fun!

If you can’t print these out then don’t worry – Just take a piece of paper and pen with you. You could also draw your own pictures before you go out.

Dance

There are some brilliant ideas on the “dance” section of the blog.

Or you can try some Go Noodle on YouTube today.

Story

Nicole has shared a video teaching us how to do Story massage. Have a go yourself at home. There’s 2 stories below to choose from (click to make bigger).

Sign of the Day

Don’t forget to follow along to Lorna’s sign of the day.. I wonder what it will be today?

Fiddly Fingers

See what you can try lifting with some washing pegs. If you don’t have pompoms you can use some cotton wool balls or some pebbles from outside.

Gardening

Have a look at the “gardening” section on the blog – Scott has posted some lovely ideas there.

HWB

It’s been a long, busy day! Let’s relax now..

Maths Groups 1,2,3 Shape activities 2

Hello Everyone.

I hope you managed to find lots of shapes in your house or garden yesterday.

Today’s challenge is to make a pattern using rectangles or squares or both.                                      Have a look in your house or outside. Can you see any patterns made with tiles in you kitchen or bathroom or maybe some slabs outside?                                                                                    You are going to make your own pattern with rectangles or squares.                                                 What do you have in the house to help you? cards? mats? dominoes or maybe you could draw your pattern.

Can you take a photo of your pattern?                                                                                                      Can you colour it?                                                                                                                                             How many rectangles or squares are in your pattern?                                                                             What happens if you add another shape?

Have fun investigating and let me know how you get on.
