P1 Learning Reflection for W/E 4.9.20

In P1 this week we have been learning about the numbers 6, 7 and 8. We have been sorting and counting using bricks, numicon, beads, ten frames and dot patterns. Our phonics focus this week was the tunnel sound ‘i‘ and the tongue sound ‘t‘, our tricky words this week were the and of.  P1 enjoyed playing games such as duck, duck, goose and 2+1 on the field for PE this week.

P1 Outdoor PE

P1 will have outdoor PE on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Children should come to school dressed in joggers, school T-shirt and sweatshirt or jumper as we will not be changing into PE kit in school. Please also ensure that your child has a jacket and suitable outdoor shoes which they can put on and take off independently.

Many thanks, Ms King

26.6.20 P1 Sharing Our Learning and Au Revoir.

Mixed feelings this week.

Joy because it has been week of fun and easy going activities and the ‘pressure’ of home school is coming to an end.  There are increasing freedoms in the lockdown  and there is light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.

Sadness because we are not only at the end of the term but also at the end of the year and we are saying au revoir, we are ready for the holidays and ready to move on to our next year of school.

Some of you have been keeping busy and have shared your learning and activities from the week:

We are proud of all our children, you have achieved great things this year.

19.6.20 P1 Sharing their Learning

With two weeks to go in the term, fitness fortnight starting and a little more freedom to meet others, it has been a new beginning and yet more of the same.  As usual you have done us proud, whether you are doing planned school work or making your own learning activities, or even just keeping going.  Resilience has many facets and we don’t always recognise we have it until we look back.  Remember you are doing ok and we have loved being on the journey with you.

Many of you have once again shared some of the highlights of your week and it has been great to see the varied activities that are going on. We have also valued seeing you doing other things too, as the saying goes, a change is as good as a rest.

As it is fitness fortnight, lets start with some photos of your sports day events, with a special well done to the virtual sports day winners Calderwood House.

You have been doing great learning this week:

Spelling and writing

Maths:

Life cycles:

There is so much fantastic reading going on:

And you are going out and about getting the chance to meet others or sometimes its just about having fun.
