Duntarvie Final Term!

Duntarvie Class of 2026, that’s wrap!

It has been such a delight to watch you all achieving so many things this term. I have loved seeing you all engage in your various awards and qualifications and seeing you all having so much fun across your rich and varied curricula! It’s also been wonderful to see everyone accessing the local community in a range of sporting activities and hear all about your swimming successes and awards too!

Our wonderful S3s have now completed their ASDAN transition challenges,  engaging in a wide range of activities with lots of effort and enthusiasm, spanning arts and crafts, cooking, drama, music, RME, whilst developing life skills, accessing the local community and even participating in work experience tasks by shadowing various people who help us at Beatlie, and within the community, to name just a few areas of learning and skills development

Our S4 and S5 pupils have been working hard to achieve even more SQAs this term, and have loved learning about how to care for animals, exploring our unique sensory perception systems,  and transferring our skills to learning in new and exciting environments. Our S5 pupils also achieved success in learning about relationships with others and keeping  safe. One S5 pupil has even achieved a National 2 award in learning all about personal health and wellbeing – fantastic!

What’s been so heartening though, is seeing you all find happiness and self expression in the everyday interactions you have with your adults and with your peers. There is so much kindness and laughter in our classroom – thank you for so many memories!

What a year we have had together!

Well done, well done, we are all so very proud of you!

Term 4 Swimming 🏊

🌊🏅 Another fantastic term at Bathgate Xcite! 🏅🌊

On Friday mornings, our Group 5 and 6 swimmers — Brooke, Callan, Cole, Riley, Cian, Pete, Reeve and Lewis — smashed it with 6 Aqua Bronze Awards and 2 Progress Awards achieved between them! Incredible effort all round!

On Thursday afternoons, Fletcher continued developing his skills and achieved his Aqua Silver Award. He was joined by Liam, who made good progress towards his Aqua Bronze Award, and Ruaridh, who proudly achieved his Aqua Silver, Gold and Platinum Awards!

Well done, everyone — we are all super proud of you! 👏

Term 1 in Lomond

What an exciting first term we have had in our new school. Everyone has had great fun exploring all the new areas of our school. The garden has been a particular favourite with all the children and they have enjoyed making full use of all the new equipment. Everything is so accessible for all the children. Another favourite of the children has been the multi-sensory room, it’s been a favourite of the staff as well with the ability to either a calming environment or a more interactive space where children can move around frequently to pop bubbles or squash ants!

Have fun looking through some of our photos of us enjoying our new school.

Term 3 in Duntarvie

In Duntarvie class we have been very busy learning out in the community and have created some videos of our favourite things we have been experiencing and participating in this term – hope you enjoy them.

We are looking forward to getting to explore further on our bikes next term and making the most of the lovely weather (fingers crossed). We are also planning to get back to check on all our berry, fruit and vegetable plants at the community garden.

Have a lovely Easter break.
