Ochiltree 2024

Ochiltree have had a fabulous year! I for one have loved every minute of it and will miss them very much!

It has been a year of fun and laughter, skills and attainment and the children have done themselves and you proud!

Alex and Fletcher have achieved their Asdan Transition Challenge and move onto their senior phase after the summer.

Mollie also moves into the senior phase class with one more year of her Asdan to go.

Brendan, Liam and Stanley will continue on their Asdan journey in Ochiltree with new friends joining them after the summer.

I hope you have all kept up to date on their journey this year through their Learners Journal and have enjoyed all the photos and videos of how fantastic they have been participating in all the wonderful activities we have had this year.

A special thanks to all who have supported all the youngsters in Ochiltree this year goes to: Madge, Alison, Tracy, Kerri, Ashley and Susan.

Have a fantastic holiday and look forward to seeing you at some of our school getharings next year. x

Pentland Term 4

We can’t believe it’s nearly the end of the first year in our amazing new school!

We’ve had another very busy term, working hard to develop our individual skills and abilities…

Once again we have also enjoyed getting out and about to horse riding and swimming…

Pentland would like to wish everyone a happy and well earned holiday.

And what a quick term it has been in the senior class.  We have all been busy working on our individual SQA awards including completing a charity upcycle project as well as S6 finishing bronze Duke of Edinburgh volunteering to organise and run a coffee morning.

We have particularly enjoyed opportunities to experience and participate in lots of different groups this term.  Just check out our photos:

  • Assembly
  • Clown Doctors with Hearts & Minds
  • Exercise Group at Polbeth Hub with Heidi McDonald Fitness
  • Musically Active Dudes with MUSAC at Crofthead Centre
  • Archery with Paul of No-Limits Sports Club
  • Multi-sensory
  • Music appreciation with Chloe and Callum from Live Music Now

We hope you have a wonderful Easter break and are well rested for a busy last term.

Spring term in Lomond

What a busy term we have had! some of our highlights have been swimming for some of our children as well as continuing to explore our new school and gardens. The new willow sculptures are very exciting.

We have continued to enjoy activities like visiting the multi-sensory room and some of us are getting very good at activating the interactive floor.  We have enjoyed activities like our Burns day ceilidh and having two cafes this term has meant plenty of opportunities for cooking and baking as well as seeing lots of people coming into the school.

We continue to enjoy a weekly visit from the clown doctors and our cross class PE groups have been a big success. It’s always nice to be able to see friends from other classes.

We are looking forward to the summer term when hopefully the weather will be a bit nicer and we will be able to get out a bit more.

Have a lovely Easter holiday and we look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.

Hopetoun News

This term has been absolutely jam packed with fun, it’s been lovely to welcome so many family and friends into school to celebrate different events with us and we’ve been enjoying lots of opportunities to get out and about. Some of our favourites events this term have been the Burn’s ceilidh,  Science week and Storytelling week where we’ve had the best time joining all our friends from across the whole school to take part in lots of different activities, anything that involves music and dance is a definite hit for Hopetoun!! We’ve also been doing lots of work exploring and promoting our Rights Respecting and Global Goals work, here’s just a small selection of what we’ve been up to!

Hope you all have a lovely Easter break, none of us can quite believe that we’ve reached this time of year already!!

Ochiltree Term 3

Spring is here!

Still cannot believe we have worked through another term – time has flown by with all the activities we have been up to this term.

Ochiltree have been out and about enjoying horseriding, swimming and creating at Potter Around and the Ochiltree team have loved every minute of it!

We have also been travelling around the World with Susan visiting an array of countries and experiencing the different cultures through sensory experiences, arts and crafts building well known tourist attractions and cooking snacks and meals to get a taste of where we visit – even snails!

The team have also been building on their skills using TD Snap for communication, rebound and PE cross class for their physical wellbeing as well as their favourites such as going out on the bike, drive deck or choosing from the choice box.

It has been fun participating in whole school events and seeing everyone at our cafe as well as learning for sustainability through litter picking and our Spring Clean.

Next term we look forward to getting outside more to participate in walking month, our topic of Forest Trails, Teddy Bear Picnic and of course Sports Day.

Thank you to everyone for another fantastic term!

Hopetoun News

What a busy busy term this has been in Hopetoun!! We’ve been enjoying lots of fun activities and events such as music, swimming, drama and cooking, raised lots of money for Children in Need and have been getting well and truly into the Christmas spirit. We all loved the Snow White pantomime and all did amazing in our Christmas performance which we hope you all enjoyed. Have a look at our video to see how much we’ve managed to fit in, it’s no wonder the time has been flying in!!

We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing everyone after the holidays.

Pentland Term 2

It’s been another very busy and fast term in Pentland!

Our highlight was hosting the Children in Need café. We hope you agree that we did an amazing job, raising over £1000! On the day we all had important jobs to do from greeting all the guests to selling raffle tickets to manning our stalls and activities. We had lots of fun and it was great to see sooooooooo many people supporting us!!!

We also had fun celebrating Halloween through pumpkin sensory play and drama games, going on an adventure with Oily Cart, being silly with the Clown Doctors and getting messy in messy play!

Of course there has been some serious hard work too! Developing our cooking and art skills, working on our understanding of cause & effect, and practising our number and counting skills.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
