Primary 1b’s terrific Thursday

Thursday was a very busy day for primary 1b.

We learned all about St Nicholas. He is our school saint.

‘He left pennies for all the people in his village’ – Holly

‘ He saw a poor man who had to sell his daughters, so he gave them money’ – Gabrielle and Freyja

‘He was good as a child too’ Gabriel

‘When he died, he became a saint’ – Liam

We had a fun art lesson, making St Nicholas. We think he looks a bit like Santa.

We then went outside to practice our numbers. We had fun counting out actions (ie 5 star jumps). We then sat it groups of 2, 3 etc.

We played ‘what’s the time Mr Wolf?’ We really enjoyed this.

Finally we practiced writing our numbers in chalk.

Taking care of our plants

Primary 1 have been learning about living things and how to take care of them. Our ‘beanstalks’ were looking quite squashed in their small pots, their roots definitely needed more space. We decided to replant them into bigger pots before we take them home next week. Halfway through replanting, we ran out of soil! This was a great opportunity to get out in the sunshine and collect some more.

Well done primary 1.
