Primary 2 have some very exciting news…one of our butterflies has emerged from its chrysalis!
Archie was heading back to his desk to do some maths work when he spotted the wings hanging on the silk paper. He quickly came to tell Mrs Dymock who didn’t believe him at first as they had looked at the chrysalis’ in the morning and there was no change to them. The hard work that Primary 2 were doing must have made the butterfly want to come out and investigate!
The wings were closed tightly, however they have started to open now and the red liquid from their wings are on the paper. This means that its wings are getting stronger.
Primary 1 came over for a visit to meet our new butterfly and to learn lots of new interesting facts.
We know that we need to care for the butterflies before releasing them. We need to put some sugary water and flowers into the butterfly garden for the butterfly to drink before it is strong enough to set free.
We can’t wait for the rest of them to join us!
Archie was super excited about the butterfly!
Thank you for allowing us into your class to share the learning P2 and Mrs Dymock.
