Primary 3 found out all about liquids in a liquid stacking experiment.
First we had to predict what liquids we thought would be heaviest and lightest. Then we completed an experiment to see if we were correct.
Evacuation letters
As part of our WW2 topic, P7B have been learning about evacuation. Mrs Benton issued some very important letters to the class to let them know that they were going to be evacuated. After receiving the upsetting news, the class worked in groups to discuss and record their thoughts and feelings. They then took on the role of an evacuee and wrote letters filled with emotive language. These wonderful letters have been edited and will be included in snapshot jotters this week.
P2 Enjoying 10 Pin Bowling
P2 enjoyed Active Stirling coming in to coach them in 10 pin bowling.
Celebrating Chinese New Year
Primary 4 have been celebrating the last festival of light of our topic. It was Chinese New Year. To celebrate we made dancing dragons, lanterns, cards and even tried to write in Chinese. Well done everyone!

P6/7H
P6/7H have made a great start to the new term. We have been learning about “ Oor Wullie” and we acted out some scenes from the comic strips. 
In P5/6 Making CO2 An Irreversible Reaction
In Science today we made Carbon dioxide by mixing a vitamin tablet with water. We did this in a vitamin tube and the gas we made built up and popped off the lid like a mini explosion.
This chemical reaction changed the water and the tablet irreversibly.
Scots Language in P7B
The pupils in P7B had lots of fun during our reading lesson today. We used the I-pads and worked in pairs to read an ‘Oor Wullie’ comic strip. We then worked together to write a summary of the text and some of us even started creating our own comic strip. There was lots of laughs at some of Oor Wullie’s antics and we have now added some new Scots words to our vocabulary.
