Follow Up Support
Senior Management & other school staff will be available in school on Wednesday August 6th 2025.
If your child is going into S5/6 and wishes to make changes to their subject choices you can make an appointment for them to see Mr Braid on Wednesday 6th August between 10am and 4pm or on Thursday 7th August between 10am and 2pm. These bookings can be made using the same website that is used for booking parents’ evening appointment. Once you have made your booking, you will be able to add a message stating whether your child wishes to discuss subject changes in-person at school or over the phone. Whilst you will make the booking, it is not essential for you to attend the meeting as I am happy to discuss subject changes just with your child. Also, if you wish to leave your child’s mobile number, I am happy to call them directly during the appointment slot.
- The booking system will open at 6pm on Tuesday 5th August and can be found using the following link: https://balfron.schoolcloud.co.uk/
(You can log in using your full first name and surname, and the pupil’s date of birth.)

Appeals 2025
Appeals 2025 is a free service that you can use if you have genuine concerns about a grade (or grades) on your results certificate. You must appeal directly to SQA.
Your appeal will be prioritised if you have a conditional place at university or college, or in training or employment that depends on your grade.
This year, if you appeal against your grade, a senior marker will carry out a marking review of your SQA-marked assessments.
This is not a re-mark.
A marking review checks that:
· all parts of your SQA-assessments have been marked;
· the marking is in line with national standards;
· the marks given for each answer have been totalled correctly
· the correct result has been entered on our system.
Please note that after being reviewed, your result could stay the same, go up or go down.
If you wish to appeal. you must do so through the SQA process, here: SQA APPEALS SERVICE
You CANNOT request an appeal verbally, in person or over the phone, only through the SQA APPEALS SERVICE
The following Deadlines apply:
· Tuesday 12 August at 11:59pm for priority appeals
· Tuesday 26 August at 11:59pm for all other appeals
Your Health & Wellbeing
Receiving results can be an anxious time and it’s important to look after your mental health and wellbeing.
If you’re feeling stressed, worried or overwhelmed, talking to a trusted friend or family member about how you’re feeling can be a good first step and make a big difference.
You can find lots of information to help you relax and support your friends on the Young Scot and YoungMinds websites.
Young Scot has also provided a blog post, which guides you through accessing support – from mental health resources to dealing with exam results.
BBC Bitesize also provides tips and advice on looking after your wellbeing over the exam period.
