Our Learning
AdditionÂ
We have been using concrete materials to learn about addition within 20. We have been focusing on double checking our counting to make sure we get the correct answer. We are also working on our mental addition skills!
Spring CraftsÂ
We have been using our creativity skills to create lots of different spring artwork. We have had experience working with lots of different craft materials and we have also been exploring colour mixing.
Have a look at the photos below of Room 2 creating our spring chickens! We have lots of other lovely crafts that are decorating our class entrance, which hopefully you will get to see on Parent’s Night!
Health and Wellbeing – Emotional Wellbeing
We have been learning about our emotions and identifying how we feel. Each morning we do our emotional check in and talk about how we are feeling during Morning Group.
Rhyme
We have been learning all about rhyming words through nursery rhymes and stories. We are learning to identify and generate rhyming words.
We played rhyme fishing!
 Â
Science – Germs
We have been learning all about germs in Science – what they are and how we can prevent them from spreading. We looked at different types of germs, different illnesses and hygiene practises that can keep us healthy and help to protect us from germs. We also went on a germ hunt to explore the different surfaces that germs live on and we had fun looking through a microscope!
Fine Motor Skills
Every day we work on our fine motor skills. A class favourite is playdough! We squeeze, mould, roll and cut the play dough to strengthen our hand muscles and fine tune our fine motor skills!
Phonics
We are learning new sounds every week to help with our speech and our reading skills. We use Sunnybank phonics to help us use the correct part of our mouth to produce the sound. We also use Jolly Phonics songs and actions to help us remember each sound. We do lots of activities to help us learn our songs! Here are photos of some of the activities we have completed!
