Term 1

🌲 Forest School Adventures – Term 1 & 2

This term we have been taking part in Forest School, spending lots of time exploring and learning in our wonderful wooded area. One of our favourite activities was using the bow saw and sawhorse—under careful supervision—to create our very own tree cookies.

We also enjoyed gathering around the campfire, where we toasted marshmallows and made delicious s’mores. It was a fantastic way to learn new skills, work together, and enjoy the outdoors.

Alongside all this, we have been busy working our way through the RSPB Gold Award. This has involved learning about wildlife, caring for our environment, and taking positive action to help nature thrive in our school grounds.

Term 2

Art in Nature

We looked at the work of the artist Andy Goldsworthy, and in groups, using natural materials, we were inspired to create our own pieces of Nature Art.

We were delighted with our results.

Term 3

This term, Primary Four have started an exciting new hockey programme. In our first week, we have been learning the basics of hockey, including how to hold the stick safely, control the ball, and move confidently on the pitch.
The children have really enjoyed taking part in fun activities and simple games, helping them to build coordination, teamwork, and confidence. Everyone showed great enthusiasm and a positive attitude as they tried something new.
As the programme continues, Primary Four will keep developing their skills, leading up to an end-of-programme hockey tournament at Uddingston Hockey Club, where they will have the chance to put everything they have learned into practice.
