WELCOME TO PRIMARY 1!
Everyone has settled really well into Primary 1, making new friends and learning new class routines. We have had a busy first few days and are looking forward to lots more wonderful learning throughout the year.
Below are just a few reminders for our class…
- Please ensure all items of clothing/lunch boxes/water bottles are  named clearly.
- Children must have a change of shoes for indoor use, these can be kept in school in the cloakroom area.
- Water is encouraged in our water bottles.
- Our PE Days  are Wednesday and Friday.
- Forest School / Woods Day – Tuesdays. Please wear clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy!
- Homework will be  issued on a Monday and should be on Friday.  Instructions for homework and reminders of any weekly events will be on Google Classroom on a Monday and all materials and resources for homework will be in your child’s homework folder.
- Homework Diaries – Weekly comment about behaviour, work or effort each week in the diary. Parents / Carers should discuss this with the child  when the diary comes home on a Monday and then add your comment.
We are off to a super start in Primary 1, stay tuned to see some of our learning….
August – OctoberÂ
We have been busy in our first term at school making new friends, learning school routines and working and playing together. We have been learning how to develop our skills on the chrome books and even write our name ! In Maths, we have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes and using them in our play. We have been learning lots of new sounds and these will help us to read big words. Mrs Dunbar is so proud of the progress everyone has made so far!
 
October – December
We have had a busy and exciting term so far. We have had lots of fun practising for our Nativity and started off our Christmas celebrations with community walks, delivering Christmas cards, enjoying the fayre and dancing away at our Christmas party. There was even a very special guest who popped by ! we are all looking forward to continuing our celebrations with our families over the festive period!
