Dear Parents and Carers,

Industrial action affecting schools and early learning and childcare settings, Tuesday 28 February 2023 and Wednesday 01 March 2023.

Shetland Islands Council have been informed that members of three teaching unions, the Education Institute for Scotland (EIS), the Scottish Secondary Teachers Association (SSTA) and the NASUWT have voted to undertake industrial action on Tuesday 28 February 2023 and Wednesday 01 March 2023.

Therefore, Dunrossness Primary school will be closed for children and young people on Tuesday 28 February 2023 and Wednesday 01 March 2023.

The Early learning and Childcare setting will be open as normal.

NOOSC  will be open all day on Wednesday 1st March 9am to 4.30pm for child care.

I will write to you again, if there are any further developments or changes to the position on the planned closure days, ahead of Tuesday 28 February 2023.

Yours sincerely,

Gina Finch
