One of our groups in school has had lots of fun building a fantastic den this afternoon! How many of the bairns can you spot?
Please see all the Christmas fun we have planned in December.
The torrential rain didn’t put some people off outdoor play! There is a huge puddle and a waterfall outside my window. Some of our nursery children really enjoyed watching the puddle get deeper and deeper. They liked standing under the waterfall and jumping in the puddle! I hope the waterproofs did their job!
On Friday 14th it is Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. We are taking part in Dunrossness School. Please encourage your child to wear their Christmas Jumpers and make a small donation to the appeal. We suggest 50p.
The staff will also donate to wear their festive jumpers. This year we will also donate our collection from the staff Secret Santa and Fruity Friday profits for that day.
Thanks for your support.

Well – I don’t really know where to start! What an absolutely brilliant day was had by all in Dunrossness Primary!
Thanks to John, Stevie Bruce, Duncan Kidson and Andrew Kemp for all their hard work over the winter to make our galley. Thanks to Ness Engineering for sponsoring the galley and providing the materials.
We really appreciate members from Jarl Squads past coming to support our procession and thank the torch boys for providing us with the torches.
The Fire Brigade were on standby to keep us all safe – thanks to our local crew.
We had a brilliant performance from our P4 and P5/6 drumming groups – thanks Joy! I really enjoyed dancing along!
Thanks Annalie Irvine for playing piano for us.
This year’s P7 Jarl Squad did a brilliant job on the day. They were very well organised and looked fantastic. Calum ‘Trunsherface’ Mackay was a fabulous Jarl and representative of the school.
All staff and bairns in the school embraced the build up and the events of the day. SMUHA is a fantastic, inclusive community event and we love taking part each year. I am sure the children in the local area will continue the festival for years to come.
Finally a huge THANK YOU to all the members of the school community for turning out to support us. What a superb atmosphere!
3 Cheers for SMUHA – I can’t wait for next year!
We’ve had a fun afternoon in school to raise money for Children in Need. Lots of people came to school wearing spots or other fancy dress. We had wrist bands for sale and this afternoon we had a Pudsey hunt and games in the hall. Well done to P2/3 and Mrs Moar for winning the Pudsey hunt! You were very observant.
Thanks to everyone who took part, donated items or money. Once the Pupil Council have counted the money they will let you know our total.
