Parent Council Term 3 Update

Hi welcome to this first parent council blog. We have had quite a term!  but feel the children , parents and staff have managed the ups and downs really well.

As a parent council we have been looking at raising funds for new panels for the main hall to make it more comfortable for children when using the hall. We Helped to organise a disco for the children which they thoroughly enjoyed. We have planned a Sunday teas for the 7th May and would greatly appreciate donations as well as any helpers for this. If you’re able to help please do get in contact with us . You can also keep an eye out on the Facebook page for further details.

We know a lot of you have been asking about school uniform and playground equipment. firstly, school uniform will be available to buy from the previous supplier Price and Buckland before the start of the new school year more information and samples will be available to see next term.

We have a few thousand pounds that have been raised for the playgrounds, unfortunately when looking into getting outdoor equipment for the playground we have found that there are a lot of safety regulations and in order to comply with these and give the children the playground they want we would need to fund raise a lot more thousands!  Therefore, we have decided along with the school that we will use the money to purchase games and other equipment for the children to use in the playground, again this will be available in the new school year. So lots of exciting things for the children to look forward to.

We would like to welcome our newest members Michelle and Judith.  As a parent council we are always looking out for new parents to join, we currently have two Office bearer opportunities available we are looking for a new chairperson and a new treasurer if you would be interested in either of these roles or would like to join the parent council as a committee member, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us, by contacting us that doesn’t mean you are agreeing to join! We are happy to have a chat about what’s involved anytime.

Thank you for taking time to read our blog we hope to be able to put up more information in this space. We would also like to remind parents that as a parent council we represent the voices of parents and carers of the school all are welcome at our meetings whether you are a member or not.

Have a great Easter break!

Meeting – 26th February 2020

We had a Parent Council Meeting tonight.

There was a real positivity in the air and the committee members are very keen to find ways to get even more involved in the work of the school.  We really want parents to be involved in their children’s education, we all know it leads to better outcomes for children when we all work together.

These are the minutes of the last meeting, held in November.

The Head Teacher’s Report for tonight’s meeting is attached.
