Alternative Advent

Again this year we are donating items for the Shetland Foodbank, helping to provide food parcels for those in need at Christmas.

Each child has a day to bring an item in to school to contribute to the collection.

Some of the items suggested are:

shower gel

tinned or instant custard

tins of rice pudding

jars of jam

UHT milk

tins of mince, stew, sausages

tinned or instant potatoes

Snow White and the Seven Jockeys

Wow!  Just home from the evening performance and what a brilliant show!  Well done one and all for the hard work that went into the production.

Thanks to all the class teachers for working on their scenes in class, to Mrs Inkster for the music and singing, Mrs J Smith for the movement and dance, John for the scenery, props, lightning, sound, photos and everything else he does to make sure the shows run smoothly.  Thanks to Mrs Leslie for her hard work in producing the whole show.   I know plans are already afoot for next year’s shows!

Thanks to Izzy Swanson too for her help and support too.

When I thanked folk tonight I forgot to mention Mrs Casey and Mrs Graydon for all their hard work in making props and costumes!  Sorry!

It was wonderful to see a full house tonight!  It is great for the bairns to have such a wonderful and receptive audience to perform to.

Finally thank you to all the bairns who took part in the show.  You are all super stars.  I am so very proud of you all.  What a wonderful, talented bunch you are!

I didn’t get many photos but here are a couple of our fetching panto dames!

Christmas Dinner and Christmas Jumper Day!

What a super day we have had at school!  Everyone has come dressed in their Christmas jumpers to help raise money for ‘Save the Children.’

We have also have a wonderful Christmas lunch.  It was excellent to see Caroline back in the kitchen for the day!  It was also really good to see so many ex members of staff.

Thanks to everyone for coming.  See you all next year!

Another busy week!

There has been lots going on this week in school!  The Christmas performances are coming on really well.  The singing is amazing!

We are also preparing for our visit to Overtonlea on the 21st December.

John and Kaleen have been busy decorating and Mrs B Smith and John have made a lovely Christmas display in the foyer.

We are all looking forward to next week and welcoming friends and family in for the Christmas performances.  We also have our school christmas lunch to look forward to.
