Christmas Jumper Day

On Friday 14th it is Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.  We are taking part in Dunrossness School.  Please encourage your child to wear their Christmas Jumpers and make a small donation to the appeal.  We suggest 50p.

The staff will also donate to wear their festive jumpers.  This year we will also donate our collection from the staff Secret Santa and Fruity Friday profits for that day.

Thanks for your support.

Fundraising Thanks

Thank you very much for your generosity for both Christmas Jumper Day and school funds.

We raised  £302.90 for Save the Children through wearing our Christmas Jumpers, staff Secret Santa and Christmas card donations.

Christmas card deliveries, Christmas Play photos and donations on the door raised an amazing  £1348.18 for school funds.

Thank you all very much for your continued support of the school.  We couldn’t do it without such a wonderfully supportive school community.

Merry Christmas to you all and the very best wishes for a happy and healthy 2017!

Christmas Dinner and Christmas Jumper Day!

What a super day we have had at school!  Everyone has come dressed in their Christmas jumpers to help raise money for ‘Save the Children.’

We have also have a wonderful Christmas lunch.  It was excellent to see Caroline back in the kitchen for the day!  It was also really good to see so many ex members of staff.

Thanks to everyone for coming.  See you all next year!

School Winter Fayre and Sunday Teas

We would like to say a huge Thank You Very Much to everyone who helped in any way towards the great success of Sunday’s Winter Fair. We have raised £1301.28 for school funds which will go towards resources, trips and visits to enhance the learning experience of all our pupils.

The class hampers were very popular again this year and made excellent prizes.  We would like to thank everyone who contributed to these.  The children feel a real sense of pride for their hamper.

Thanks to everyone who baked, donated items and helped in the preparations and on the day.  For those of you who stayed behind to tidy up, we are very grateful!

We have a really supportive school community without which events like this would not be possible.  Thank you again for your commitment and support of the school.  It is truly appreciated.

Next year we plan to have our Winter Fundraiser on a Saturday morning.   Save the date – Saturday 4th November 2017!

Children in Need

We’ve had a fun afternoon in school to raise money for Children in Need.  Lots of people came to school wearing spots or other fancy dress.  We had wrist bands for sale and this afternoon we had a Pudsey hunt and games in the hall.   Well done to P2/3 and Mrs Moar for winning the Pudsey hunt!  You were very observant.

Thanks to everyone who took part, donated items or money.   Once the Pupil Council have counted the money they will let you know our total.
