Please remember parents’ evenings are on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th October. This is a great opportunity to meet with the class teachers and discuss how your child is getting on in school. Mrs Leslie and I will also be available on the night. We really look forward to seeing you there.
There will be the Book Fair, tea and coffee and hopefully a creche (providing there are enough volunteers.)
If you are unable to make the appointment given, please phone the school office as soon as possible so alternative arrangements can be made.
Please use the link below to complete our Nurture Survey.
The Parent Council met last night and we have been able to confirm that there will be a creche on Monday and Tuesday evening. Children must be signed in and remain in the hall until they are signed out by parents/carers.
We will be looking for your views, as usual! Our Curriculum Rationale has been completed and we would like to hear your thoughts. You can also tell us what you thought of our Children’s Improvement Plan (CHIP.)
We will also have our new health and well being and religious and moral education resources on display for you to look through.
The Scholastic Book Fair will be set up. There are some lovely books on offer.
Your child/ren have been busy designing their Christmas cards. They will be outside classrooms on Parents Evening for you to look at and orders can be placed with Jackie Bishop at the Book Fair stall in the foyer.
We are looking forward to seeing you all there. Please check your appointment times and if you can’t make it, let us know and we will try our best to rearrange.
Many, many thanks to those of you who have come forward to join our Parent Council. It is a vital link between the parent body and the school and we are delighted to see we can now form the council.
It would be great to see 2 representatives for each class, that way the workload can be shared and if you can’t attend all meetings, there will always be enough people there.
Currently we have no reps for Primary 2 and only one for Primaries 4-7. I am sure from our all our parents that we can manage to get 2 per class!
I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to our event tonight. The whole place was buzzing and had a lovely atmosphere. It was great to see the bairns leading their family and friends around to show them their learning.
We would love your feedback on the event too. Please let us know your thoughts.
On the National Parent Forum of Scotland there is lots of really useful information.
The ‘In a Nutshell’ documents are for parents, carers and young people and give information on a range of topics. The link to the site is in the ‘For Parents’ tab in the ‘Websites’ section.
I have also included it below.
Thank you to all the families who attended parents’ evening last night. We had 100% attendance so we are delighted by your commitment in supporting your child’s learning.
Thanks also to our Parent Council for supplying teas and coffees and running the creche.
Thank you for helping us with our school values consultation. We will post the results after the holidays.
The Book Fair will still be available tonight and Wednesday morning until break time.
We are delighted so many people came in to learn with their children during Wider Achievement this afternoon.
A big THANK YOU to Toyah for taking in all the children from the drama group too.
Our Wider Achievement Afternoons have been really successful and the children have been learning lots of new skills. They have enjoyed being able to choose different activities and also working with children from different classes.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who have helped to make this possible. We will be building on this next year!
We are interested to find out who is visiting our School Blog. We would love if you would comment below to let us know you are looking at the posts. Just an ‘I do’ or ‘I look’ would be fine. If you feel like writing more – we’d like to see that too. Tell us what you think!
The children (and staff) love when people respond to what we put on our Blog pages.
