Rights Respecting Pupil Council

We have been very busy with the Pupil Council from Tarbolton Primary School, learning about their interests and what they do as Rights Respecting Ambassadors.

We gave them a tour of the school, showed them our displays and talked about our favourite articles, and had a very good conversation. They showed us their booklet with their displays and opinions.

We have also been working on fundraising and have had the idea of a Tough Mudder, to raise money for Sports Relief. The Pupil Council also decided on a Christmas Jumper Day, and worked to send letters out to parents.

We also decided on a Children in Need day, where the pupils could bring in a pound for a non-school uniform day. All of the money raised went to Children in Need.

The Pupil Council also spent time going around each display, and picking articles specifically for that display. Each of the Class Charters in the school also have their own articles, which are important to their class in particular.

We also put together a display during with our Dinner Hall Charter, to go in our gym hall. This has articles related to nutritious foods to go with the hall for lunchtime. We also discussed what actions pupils could take to make sure they are getting a nutritious lunch.

This is all working towards our Rights Respecting Gold Accreditation.
