Dyslexia Friendly School Committee

Our Squad 2019 / 2020.

This year the Dyslexia Friendly Squad have organised Dyslexia Awareness Week in November . The whole school took part in various activities both in assembly and class. Children wore blue for the day and received a blue dyslexia pin to raise donations in order to help us with our dyslexia toolkits in classes.  With the money raised the school purchased pencil grips, fidget toys, squishes and wooden fidget strings for all the toolkits within school and also for the nursery children in the Early Years Centre.  The DFS Squad are also continuing to make their own fidget toys to add to their class toolkits.

Pupils are organising World Book Day in March and will be presenting World Book Day at assembly.

This year we will also be getting ready to present our school to the South Ayrshire Team, to show case out good practice for the Dyslexia and Inclusive Practice Award.
