Primary 2/3

By Eve

Hello!

In P2/3 we have 14, P2’s and 9 P3’s this year. The class teacher is me, Miss Shields. However, on a Tuesday morning and a Wednesday the class have Mrs Stewart. We have had a great start to term 3 learning lots of new things.

Within literacy we have been practicing our writing schools using some talk for writing books along with doing some work around Robert burns. The children have also been working on their sentence structure trying to remember to put capital letters and full stops when they are needed. Spelling has been recapping the sounds the children should know from last year, along with adding in new sounds, using lots of different active spelling strategies. Then also having a focus on letter formation and handwriting. We have been using bug club to improve our reading skills, and reading twice a week in class with a teacher.

In numeracy we will be doing a lot of work on time this term. We have been learning about 3D shape with Mrs Stewart.

During health and wellbeing, we have been keeping fit doing lots of fun activities in PE. We have also been looking at our emotions and how to handle them in different situations and learning to be resilient.

The children have also been learning French with Mrs Stewart looking at numbers and colours.

We are all very excited to continue the year as a class and continue learning and developing new things.

Miss Shields 😊
