This year our teacher is Miss Cowie and we have 29 pupils in our class. We have 13 boys and 16 girls. Mrs Anastasiadou and Mrs Entwhistle will be working in our class on a Friday afternoon. They will support the learning of Literacy, RME and STEM.
We work hard in class and try hard to live by our school values. We try our best to be HONEST, AMBITIOUS, KIND, RESPONSIBLE and RESPECTFUL. We will continue the work we started last year on being READY, RESPECTFUL and SAFE at all times.
This term, in Numeracy and Maths, we will be focusing on BODMAS, 2D shape, area and perimeter and fractions decimals and percentages. We enjoy taking part in chilli challenges as this helps us to challenge ourselves within Numeracy and Maths. We will continue to revise all times tables and we will use interactive games to support us with this.
In Literacy this term, we are going to look at writing using the Scots language. We will also be learning some parts of Tam O’ Shanter. We will also explore different novels using the Literature Circles approach. There will be opportunities for reading at home. We are continuing with Accelerated Reading and we will try to do a little independent reading each day.
In PE, we will be learning the basic skills relating to netball. We will build up these skills each week so that we can compete in game situations.
This term, Mrs Coleman is working with us to teach us how to play the ukulele. We have had a couple of lessons so far and are keen to learn more.
