Primary 6/7

By Ava

Welcome! We are Primary 6/7.

Term 2

This year our teacher is Miss Dickie. We have 25 pupils in our class. We have 10 Primary 6 pupils and 15 Primary 7 pupils. We love learning and we work hard to demonstrate that we are ready, respectful and safe.

We are keen mathematicians and are enthusiastic about our learning. This term we have been learning about angles, multiples, factors and prime numbers, information handling, BODMAS and shape. We also enjoy playing puzzles and games to develop our mental strategies and reasoning skills.

Literacy is good fun in P6/7. This term we are focusing on Talk 4 Writing and learning how to write a non-chronological report. We also enjoyed writing about how to survive a zombie apocalypse on Halloween. We haven’t quite finished Wonder yet, so we are continuing with this and we also read our Accelerated Reading books on a daily basis.

This term, Mr Thomson is working with us to develop our music technology skills through an app called Garage Band. We are learning to write and produce music. This is great fun and we do this every Wednesday. We have been learning about Climate Change, which links to COP26 and our next topic will be Extreme Weather and Natural Disasters.

Our P7s have also been very busy in their new leadership roles and are enjoying developing their skills every Friday. The P7s have also worked together on a short virtual assembly to mark Remembrance. We are busy, busy, busy in P6/7!

We are looking forward to another fun filled term and can’t wait to see what this term brings us. Make sure you stay tuned to Twitter as we will regularly showcase our learning at different points throughout the week.
