Dear Parents and Carers,

My name is Mrs Simpson, and I am delighted to be teaching Primary 1 this year. The children have already settled in so well at Holy Family Primary School, and I am enjoying getting to know each of them. I love being their teacher and I am really looking forward to the year ahead.

Here is our Homework Grid for September. It has a few must‑do tasks and some optional activities you can enjoy with your child throughout the month.

Each week, your child will bring home their word tin with phonemes and common words, along with their reading books. These help your child practise sounding out words and building early reading skills.

A few minutes of practice each day will make a big difference to your child’s confidence with reading and sounds. Thank you for supporting their learning at home.
