Dear Parents and Carers,
Please find attached our class Homework Grid for September. The grid includes both “Must Do” and optional activities for your child to complete throughout the month.
Each week, children will bring home either their class novel study, a reading book or will be asked to choose a personal reading book from home or our class library, to help develop their reading skills. They will receive a spelling wallet with word lists containing phonemes and common words to practise at home. There will also be a spelling document with a list of suggested activities that your child can chose from.
Regular practice at home is extremely beneficial and helps children build confidence in recognising and reading words and phonemes. We encourage you to spend a few minutes each day supporting your child with these activities, as this will reinforce their learning and progress in school.
In addition to this children can access the Virtual Classroom on Glow. As a general guide P4 = Green Classroom, P5 = Blue Classroom. However you can move between classrooms depending on what suits the child.
