Four Operations

It is important to keep practising your basic formal skills: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication & Division. Do a few every day but don’t spend too long on it. If you are getting them all right all the time, try harder ones or have a break and do something else.

The Chilli Challenge will keep you on your toes mentally but you should do some formal calculations everyday too. Try to get a parent of adult to set you some and check how you get on. Or use Gimme Some Sums some make some up and mark them.

Triangles and Squares: you should be multiplying and dividing up to 9999 by units, 10s and T&U. Adding and Subtracting to 9999.
Pentagons: you should be multiplying and dividing 999 by units. Adding and Subtracting to 9999.
Hexagons: Multiplying up to 999 by units, Adding and Subtracting to 999
Octagons: Adding and Subtracting to 999
