It’s been a busy week or so in the Biggies. We are getting used to our new classmates and teachers. This year Mrs Rae and Miss Bow will be working with us and helping us to learn and grow.
In PE we have been learning about orienteering: how to use and follow a map or plan, recognising symbols and what they mean as well as working as a team to reach a goal. More learning to come in this over the next week or so.
We have helped to decide on some of our learning this year. Our first IDL topic is going to be about The Vikings. Miss Bow will be helping us to learn and find out more about this.
In Literacy, we are revising our Reading Comprehension strategies such as Visualisation and Summarising.
In Numeracy & Maths we have been learning about Place Value and Estimation & Rounding.
Our Health and Well-being word for the coming month is “Safe”. We are going to learn how to react and respond in an emergency as well as learn a bit of first aid.
We are looking forward to sharing our learning through this blog and also through our ePortfolios where we are able to reflect on our learning, what went well and what we would like to do next to improve.
Our Class Charter is created and our Recognition Board is up. Look out September, the Banton Biggies are ready for action!
