The First Day In The House

Finally we where all in the house and it was HUGE! The boys had a separate room from the girls and there was TWO teachers rooms. The girls had a shower room with three showers and they had a small toilet room with one toilet, the boys had on room with some showers and some toilets inside. The girls room was quite big and so was the boys. Since there was seven boys, Rory, Harry, Blair, Wallace, Jason, Hugh and Mikey they had to bring a mattress into their room because there wasn’t enough beds, there was only three girls, Alex, Faith and I we didn’t need one.

Down in the living room there was an Air hockey table most people played with it throughout the trip. All the time you would’ve heard it on. Coming later we got to play in the activity centre and get indoor shoes for it, we got to use the rock climbing wall, there was a basket ball hoop in there, one football goal, balance boards, pool noodles and load and LOADS of bean bags!

Yoga and Some Sleepy Yogi

After the activity centre we had some dinner the after that we went back in because we got to do some yoga, during the yoga we had to act out our favourite animals making there noises while walking round the room then Michelle our yoga instructor would tell us an animal to act out. After that we got to partner up and do different moves, I was partnered with Faith, she was a good partner and was really good at yoga! After all of that we got a blanket that Michelle had brought in and lay on our mats because Michelle told us a story about a magical carpet, in the middle of her story we all heard snoring, Blair had fallen asleep so did Wallace!

The house and the first day

We arrived at the house, it was very big the living room was very big and had an air hockey table at one end and a fuzzball table at the other end we picked our rooms and basically got a tour of the whole house. The first day we got a bit of time to settle in, have dinner and then was our first activity, yoga. After we settled in a bit we did some yoga at the activity centre, which is very close to the house. When we went over there was a woman who ran the yoga class. First we pretended we were animals then done some stretches and then relaxed while listening to the woman tell a story, by the end of the story when everyone woke up except from Wallace who was snoring the whole time and very loudly. After that we went back home settled down before we went into the rooms.

The Second Day

On the second day we woke up and had breakfast then we went to a Croft where we got to walk goats see sheep, chickens, a horse and a cat in the Croft we also did wool art. After the Croft we had lunch before coming back to the house where we chilled out and played air hockey. Once we did that we had dinner and then went on our woodland walk in the dark with torches. After that went to bed and at the middle of the night Blair fell out of bed onto the floor and then went back to sleep whilst we were all laughing.

The third day

Pupil in wetsuits in the sea

When we got up we had to head to the loch to do swimming quite sharp so we had breakfast and then went to the activity centre where Ann introduced us to Craig. He was the one going in the water with us because Ann had a cold. Craig was there to put buoyancy aids and wetsuits stuff like that. We got all our clothes on and we hopped on the hopscotch bus and made our way to the loch. We arrived and first we went in the river, this was colder than we all expected, we lay on our backs and flowed down the river this was really fun. We then got into the loch, again very cold. We then got into the loch. Both the river and the loch were very strong we got very far in and then we came back. I hated the walk back to the bus.

Montage of two photos of pupils on bike track

When we were back home we relaxed for an hour then we got split into groups, one group would go on the bikes for an hour while the other was in the activity centre then we swapped around we just went round a track and she kept adding obstacles in.

We then had dinner and everyone got together in the living room. We played hid and seek in the whole house. The first round me and Harry his under Mrs Sava’s bed and we were the last ones caught the second round I was het. That round wasn’t that interesting but the third round Blair was het and he dressed up as a police officer he would bang on the doors shouting this is a police investigation! And then everybody he caught would dress up in a funny costume and do this. We had supper, I loved the suppers. We then went to bed.

In short

So in short we went of a big bus trip to just south of Fort William where we took a tiny ferry to the other side got a lift to the house then had dinner went to sleep after a day of driving. Once woken up in the morning we went to a Croft then did a woodland walk in the dark and then went to sleep. The next morning we packed and then we had a freezing swim in the sea then did mountain biking. After that we went to sleep to wake up and have a day of packing and being driven back home on a load of A roads back to Banton Primary we’re we got to leave school early. So that is what we did and we had a amazing time at the Ardvullin House at Fort William.
