We have had a very busy couple of weeks back at school. We have started our new topic about, Ancient Greece. Using the chromebooks we researched it and wrote some facts in our IDL jotters. Afterwards we made a huge timeline for our display. We all chose our groups for our floorbooks and got to work creating the front cover. Inside we drew the timeline and then began making a page about the original olympics. We think it’s going to be a brilliant and interesting topic. Room 14 pupils are looking forward to sharing what we learn at our open afternoon in June.

Good morning,
Room 13 have been working as hard as ever on our return from the Easter holidays. Here is a sample of what we have been up to:
In Writing, we have been improving a simple sentence by adding adjectives and then continuing the sentence as a story. Below is four examples of our excellent creativity.
In Spelling, we have really enjoyed using active spelling techniques such as finger spelling and spelling hangman.
In Numeracy, we have been working on 2d shape and the link between the 2, 4 and 8 times tables.
For Health and Wellbeing we have been linking the skills used in playground games to skills we use in the classroom. We came up with listening, imagination, teamwork, turn taking and following rules as skills we needed for both and discussed them during our nurture sharing assembly.

Yesterday we had our parents/carers in for our Learning Showcase. It was fantastic to show our adults some of the activities that we complete each week in class. We were having so much fun that we did not get any pictures!
CD – I liked the tuff tray with the division calculations.
OW – We did times tables snakes and ladders.
GO – I liked filling in the missing numbers on the missing number 100 squares. My family said that they wished they could have a shot.
ES – I liked playing BINGO. My mum had a good time.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to spend it with us. We had an amazing time!
Just a little reminder that Thursday 2nd May is an In-Service Day and Friday 3rd May is a non uniform day.

“We were learning to listen and to give instructions.” A
“We had to direct our partner from the class door to the outside door.” D
