Good afternoon everyone,

This week was British Science Week. The boys and girls have really enjoyed getting to take part in a range of Science lessons.

As part of our dinosaur focus the learners in Room 1 were very keen to know, how do we know dinosaurs existed? We then had a class discussion on what evidence is and what evidence we have that dinosaurs lived on planet Earth. This led on to a discussion on fossils and how we know dinosaurs were alive because fossils have been discovered by palaeontologists. The boys and girls were all very interested in this. We then got the chance to make our very own dinosaur fossils.

When learning about our five sense, Mr MacKay took the boys and girls a senses walk round the school. They enjoyed the chance to talk to each other about the different things they could hear and see.

We have also been very lucky this week as the STEM leaders came to visit our class. They led a lesson on using different materials to create a tower. The materials they used were spaghetti and marshmallows and the boys and girls had to try and create the tallest tower they could.

Please see pictures below of our learning.

Have a great weekend
