Room 6

Happy Friday.

This week in room 6 we have been learning the o_e phoneme, which has been a bit tricky but we have had lots of practice in our jotters and outside with the chalk. Next week we will be consolidating the o_e and and the i_e sound. In Maths we have been learning about Data Collection and creating different displays to display our data in. We went outside on Monday for a mini beast hunt, and around all of the classes to find out the most favourite colour in each class. We created Tally Mark tables to display this in, and these were fantastic! We have been learning about Wind Farms for our upcoming trip to the Wind Farm and all about sustainable renewable energy. We also planted our ‘beanstalks’ today and we will be bringing them home. For World Book Day, we really enjoyed taking part in an Authors Live ‘My Granny Went to Scotland’, and reading with our P6 Reading Buddies. We also created a reading train with all of the P2 classes and enjoyed discussing our books with others.

Next week Miss Riley will focus on Time for Maths, and Miss Livingstone will be consolidating all previous learning on Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Fractions, Shape and Data Analysis! (Another busy week!) Homework this week is a tally mark task, and consolidation of our spelling words, books are on bug club! Have a lovely weekend.

Well done to Ethan for being our Star Mathematician.
