Room 8’s Busy Book Week

This week we have done a lot.

For World Book Day we completed lots of book activities. For example, we created a book mark to use when we are reading. We also became authors and illustrators of our own stories and comics. We got to share these with our friends in class. We joined in with the other Primary 3 classes to take part in a reading river. We also watched an Authors Live with Miss Priestley and we learned how to draw comics. Today we completed a report on World Book Day. We were able to write about its history, why it is important to celebrate it, activities you could do and we listed some of our favourite books.

We have been working on multiplication for our numeracy this week. We were showing different questions as arrays and repeated addition.

We continued our junk models of the Waverley. We developed our compromising and communication skills because we had to work together as a team.

For RME this week, Miss Priestley taught us about Ramadan. We learned that people fast during this time.

We have been practising joining up our letters to improve our handwriting.

Some of us have been taking part in a dance club at lunch time which is led by primary 6. We joined in with some children from Room 9 and we learned 2 dances- a hip hop one and a cheerleading one.

We went outside for PE this week to work with our hockey coaches. We are preparing for a hockey festival and cannot wait to show our skills.

Mrs Calder paid us a visit on Monday while we were doing ICT. Our lesson was ‘unplugged’ and we were learning to create functional algorithms.

It has been a busy birthday week in Room 8, with 4 pupils celebrating their 8th birthday! We hope you had a lovely time.

Thank you for reading Room 8’s busy blog!
