UNICEF’s Rights Respecting School Award
The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of a school’s planning, policies, practice and ethos. A rights-respecting school not only teaches about children’s rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers / adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils.

Clydmuir Primary School share their planning and resources as they introduce rights.
Swinton Primary school has been following a programme of rights based learning for several years and are now a Level 2 RRSA school. Here are some of the ways they plan to deliver rights education.
Calderside Academy produced a presentation to introduce Global Citizenship
Glenburn ASN school in Greenock were the first ASN school in Scotland to be awarded the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award.
The pupils created their own art work and linked them into the UNCRC Articles.
