Craighead Primary is linked with Chikololere Primary in Malawi. During exchange visits Malawian teachers were introduced to Rights Respecting Schools (Child Friendly Schools in Malawi). Training was given in Malawi and lessons observed.

At Craighead Primary School pupils discuss the ways in which they have helped develop Convention of the Rights of the Child in the wider community. They outline the work they do to inform others about Fairtrade and global issues. They are encouraged to have their right to be listened to by participating in school committees that create choices for their school community.
