Award for Beatlie School

Beatlie School in West Lothian has become the first school for children with severe and complex additional support needs to receive UNICEF’s Rights Respecting Schools Award.

Glenburn ASN School, Inverclyde – Staff Audit

Glenburn ASN School in Inverclyde created a staff audit to ensure that all staff were embedding children’s rights into their daily practice.  The Rights Steering Group of pupils and staff collected the results and included the responses into their action plans.  Glenburn Staff Audit

As a school supporting children with additional needs Glenburn are extremely proactive in helping all pupils’ access knowledge about their rights. They describe inclusive approaches using differentiated materials. Rights based language has become an everyday part of school life. The pupils take us on a learning walk illustrating pupil voice and the choir sing the song they wrote about rights.

Glenburn ASN School (Inverclyde) created a rights leaflet

Glenburn ASN school in Greenock were the first ASN school in Scotland to be awarded the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award.

The pupils created their own art work and linked them into the UNCRC Articles.
