P6a- Weekly Update

PE – This week in P.E we have been working on our passing skills in netball. We took part in some short drills that encouraged us to look when we are passing and receiving the ball. It was quite tricky yo begin with but once we got into the rhythm there was no stopping us!

H&WB – This week in our PATHS lessons, we have been learning all about the skills required to be an effective group member. We have used what we have learned to work together and carry out research tasks for our Scotland topic. Within each group everyone has a role. We will work together and create a short presentation which we will deliver to the class.

Term 2!

We have had a super busy week back after the October holidays!

Literacy – We continue to work on our class novel looking at direct and indirect speech. We used book creator to edit images from the book – adding in speech bubbles to show what the characters were saying to each other.

Maths – We have been working hard in maths this week, beginning work on shape. We were able to identify the properties of more complex shapes and were able to compare shape properties. Finding lines of symmetry in some shapes was quite tricky but we got there!

IDL – Our new topic this term is ‘Scotland’. we began by looking at a map of Scotland and identifying cities within it! we then thought about some of the famous landmarks within these cities that people go to visit!

This week in p6a!

We have had another busy week in p6a!

Literacy – We are enjoying reading our whole class novel ‘Double Act’ and are getting much better at ‘reading between the lines’ when answering inferential questions!

Maths – this week we have enjoyed some active maths experiences to end our work on place value. We have began work on decimals which has been quite tricky but everyone has shown great perseverance!

IDL – Our class topic this term is Rainforests. We have enjoyed researching different rainforest tribes and locating where they can be found on a map!
