House Points

NEW FOR APRIL 2024

At Wallacewell Primary School we believe that TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK. We operate a House System where children along with their siblings are placed into a House for the duration of their time at Wallacewell Primary School. Our House System has been introduced to promote positive behaviour and encourage the philosophy of team spirit, fair play and togetherness.

Children are given ‘House Points’ from all members of teaching, support and admin staff for demonstrating our school values within the school. These ‘House Points’ accumulate over the course of a week. At the end of each term the points are added up and the winning House is awarded an afternoon treat. In addition, children will compete in their Houses at Sports Day,  with 2 Houses competing in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Pupils will  receive ‘House Points’ during sports day and these are then added to the scores throughout the year culminating in the ‘House of the Year’ award.

Every term there are House Meetings where children and staff from the same houses come together to carry out a task or discuss school issues.

Our Houses are named after Scottish mountain and are as follows:

  • Ben Nevis (Blue)
  • Ben Lomond (Yellow)
  • Ben More (Red)
  • Ben Chonzie (Green)
