We have almost reached the end of our Primary 1 learning journey, and the transformation in the children has been incredible to witness and be part of. Over the year, they have grown in confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for learning, and we are so proud of all they have achieved.
This week, the children enjoyed a very special experience when they met author L.G. Walters. She read an extract from her book, The Kingdom of Kilminkie, introducing the children to its characters and sharing insights into the story. The children listened attentively and asked thoughtful questions, making the visit both engaging and memorable.
We also shared our solo talks and research projects about favourite animals. The children put a tremendous amount of effort into creating colourful and informative posters to accompany their presentations. It was clear that lots of preparation and rehearsal had taken place at home, as the children spoke with confidence and demonstrated an impressive knowledge of their chosen animals.
The variety of animals chosen made for a fascinating week of learning. We heard all about sharks, giraffes, cheetahs, lions, and monkeys, as well as many heartfelt and enthusiastic presentations about beloved family pets, including cats and dogs. Every child should be proud of the effort they put into their research and presentations.
As this will be our final blog of the school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our families for the continued support you have shown throughout the year. Your encouragement and partnership have played an important role in helping each child thrive, grow, and shine.
We wish you all a wonderful summer holiday. Hopefully the sunshine makes an appearance, and everyone has the chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy some special family time together.
Thank you for a fantastic year, and we look forward to hearing about all the children’s adventures when they return!
