FREE SCHOOL MEALS – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Free School Meals

Lots of our families, who we believe are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM), have still not registered. As you will be aware all P1-5 pupils attending school in Scotland are entitled to free school meals.

For other pupils (P6-7), parent or carer must be in receipt of –

  • Universal credit and earning no more than £726 in the monthly assessment period before you apply.
  • CTC only with income under £18,725
  • CTC/WTC with income under £8,717
  • Income support
  • Income-based jobseeker’s allowance
  • Income-related employment and support allowance
  • Asylum support from the Home Office

If your child is in P1-5 and also eligible for free school meals due to low income, you should still apply for free school meals to make sure that you get the Scottish child payment bridging payment. We would also encourage parents/carers of pupils in P6-7 to apply if you think you meet the criteria above.

Please visit the website for further information and to apply. If you require any assistance please do not hesitate to contact us at the school.

HOUSE POINTS – TERM 1 WINNERS

We are delighted to announce that Ben More were our winning house in Term 1 and have earned themselves a super house prize. They achieved this by working together to earn the most house points across Term 1. On Friday 15th November, from 1.30-2.30pm, all children in Ben More will be involved in an afternoon of exciting outdoor activities hosted by the wonderful Donald from Wildside Nature. The afternoon will include the toasting of marshmallows, funs games and hot chocolate. Each child can bring one adult family member along with them to share in this experience. We kindly ask that children come to school dressed for outdoor learning on this day. Given the unpredictable Scottish weather we advise that a waterproof jacket, appropriate outdoor shoes, a hat and gloves are worn. Well done Ben More. We look forward to celebrating with you soon!

We are delighted to share our refreshed school values with our school community. Our Pupil Council worked with Miss Jardine this week to design visuals for our values and have outlined what they mean to us through their values posters.
